Pantheon runs a ‘Submission Only’ rule set, however there are other guidelines that competitors must adhere to. Here’s the breakdown for your information…
Method of Victory
The bout is Sub-Only with No Referee Decision. If there is no submission by the end of the bout it will be declared a draw providing no contingencies outlined below.
Defined as one competitor yielding physically: two or more clear taps to the leg, arm or body of the opposing competitor preferably, or tapping the ground with the palms or soles of feet.
Or verbally: including a scream or audible outburst signifying unmanageable pain.
If the Referee feels one competitor is unable to defend himself or feels his life/career is in danger, the Referee will declare the winner and cease the bout. This includes a technical submission if one competitor experiences an injury that impedes performance directly (at the referee’s discretion) and the bout will be declared a technical submission.
The referee will intervene if a fighter loses consciousness and the bout will be declared a technical submission.
Fouls and Penalties
A competitor will receive two calls for stalling, on the third call a penalty point will be given and the only way for that competitor to win will be to submit their opponent; a fourth stalling call will lead to disqualification.
A foul will lead to a warning, a second foul will lead to a penalty point and the only way for that competitor to win will be to submit their opponent; a third will lead to disqualification. This is at the referee’s discretion.
A blatant, malicious foul can lead to instant disqualification at the referee’s decision (e.g. Striking an opponent) see Illegal techniques section below.
Wrestling Shoes are optional (NO GI ONLY)
Lower body clothing is compulsory e.g. Shorts, spats, Vale Tudo shorts. Clothing with zips or anything that will present a danger to the other competitor is prohibited.
No slippery substances allowed on body or on the clothing.
The mat area is 6 x 6 meters, no cage or fence.
If the competitors go out of this area, the referee will restart the fight in the centre of the mat. The bout will be paused at a moment deemed appropriate by the referee and restarted in the same position they were when they left/reached the edge of the mat when the referee said “Stop”. If the competitors were standing, they will start again facing each other.
Standard bout = 10 Minutes
Featured bout = 15/20 Minutes depending on card position
